I live in a small town and don't have much access to prepaid visa cards except over the internet.

Anyway. i they started selling Vanilla Visa prepaid cards at our Dollar General store.

I was wonder if anyone here has ever used the Vanilla Visa for making deposits to a Poker site.

Mainly I am thinking about site like Land Shark Network, Land Shark, Poker4ever, etc. Possibly a site on the Cake Poker Network. Or, maybe a stand alone like WSEX (world sports exchange).

Any know whether the Vanilla Visa will work with these sites?

Hmmmm,

I was hoping someone had experience with using Vanilla Visas to deposit to poker sites.

So far no one has responded.

If you have used A Vanilla Visa please tell me if it works and with what sites.

Thanks. :)

I forget if I used a Vanilla Visa...but I remember it was a prepaid visa card...

Actually I think it was a Vanilla Visa..anyways...

I tried to deposit with the card, and if I remember correctly, I couldn't get it to work on any site. When the deposit failed at one site, they gave me a number to call to hear why it failed. Basically they told me the card I was trying to use is only valid for domestic US purchases. And with most poker sites, the money is sent overseas to another country, so the transaction wouldn't be authorized by visa.

I remember he told me there was one card that Visa provides that you can use for international purchases, but there was like a $25 activation fee or something... I didn't bother.

Check the fine print on the card and see if it says anything about being only for domestic purchases. If it does, you may be out of luck on most sites.

Hope this is helpful!

The card cannot be used outside the US.

Here is what I found on their FAQ site:

https://www.vanillavisa.com/faq.html
Quote:
# How do I use my Vanilla Visa® Gift Card?

Simply present the Card at the time of payment, and sign the receipt. As you use the Card, the balance will be reduced by the full amount of each purchase including taxes, charges and other fees, if any. The Card can be used to pay the full amount of the purchase and applicable taxes, so long as the balance remaining on the Card is sufficient. If you want to make a purchase for an amount greater than the remaining balance, you must notify the merchant before completing the transaction.

# Where can I use my gift Card?

You may use your Vanilla Visa Card anywhere Visa debit cards are accepted within the fifty United States and District of Columbia; however, it does not include the territories of Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Guam. The Vanilla Visa Card cannot be used at merchants outside of the United States, including the Internet and mail order/telephone order merchants outside of the United States.

Good job Villain!

In my experience, pre-paid credit cards are just a big headache especially with those damn fees...

Thanks for the heads up Villain.

I guess I will have to find an online gift card seller after all to buy a card.

Any suggestions people?

Why bother? Open yourself up a Pic-club account. It's no problem depositing money with them. Then use it to deposit / withdraw at all Everleaf site, Land Shark, Merge, and some Cake sites. This is what I'm using and I've had no problems.

Yes!!!! I found PicClub after the prepaid cards wouldn't work. Good job Jolub! PicClub is super easy. You may just have to get used to another room, but it has a ton to choose from!
